200 trucks to load products daily from Port Harcourt Refinery – Presidency (Channels)
The presidency on Tuesday said that 200 trucks are set to load petroleum products daily from the Port Harcourt Refinery.
Speaking on his X handle, the Special Adviser on Public Communications and Orientation to the President, Sunday Dare, said that the refinery’s Old Wing has resumed operations with a production capacity of 60,000 barrels of crude oil per day.

Senate corrects mistake on sack of Umar, Chairman CCT (Vanguard)
The Senate has corrected the mistake it made last week Wednesday when it invoked the provision of Section 157 (1) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999, as amended to sack Mr. Danladi Umar as the chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), over what it described as unacceptable acts of misconduct.
The Senate, yesterday, however, resolved to invoke the appropriate Constitutional provisions as enshrined under paragraph 17 (3) PT 1, Fifth Schedule to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (As Amended) and Section 22 (3) Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal Act Cap C15, LFN 2004 as the constitutional and statutory basis for its resolution S/RES/2/36/24 dated November 20, 2024, regarding the removal from office of Mr. Umar as the Chairman Code of Conduct Tribunal for misconduct. Lagos prepares revamp of school traffic safety advocacy programme (Independent)

Customs boss commissions renovated administrative building at TCIP (Sun)
The Comptroller General of Customs (CGC), Adewale Adeniyi, on Tuesday inaugurated the newly renovated Customs administrative building at Tin Can Port, Lagos. The facility, untouched for over 40 years, now boasts modern infrastructure under the supervision of the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Dera Nnadi.
Speaking at the commissioning, CGC Adeniyi praised the effort and vision behind the project. “We dedicate this to the glory of God, and for the provision of better and more optimal service to the federal government of Nigeria. I commend Comptroller Dera Nnadi and all his men for the initiative of getting this done. When he told me about it, I never knew that it was such a gigantic project.
“I just thought that they needed to put some brushes here and there. But from what I have seen physically and from the video I’ve seen, this is an award-winning project. The award for the Nigeria Customs Service in 2024, which was supposed to have taken place two weeks ago, will now take place in two days’ time. Biden announces Israel-Hezbollah ceasefire agreement (AlJazeera)
United States President Joe Biden says Israel and Lebanon have accepted a proposal to end the “devastating” Israel-Hezbollah conflict, setting the stage to halt nearly 14 months of cross-border fighting that has killed thousands of people.
In a televised address from Washington, DC, on Tuesday, Biden said the truce would begin at 4am local time (02:00 GMT) on Wednesday. The agreement did not relate to the ongoing Israeli operations in Gaza.
“Lasting security for the people of Israel and Lebanon cannot be achieved only on the battlefield. That’s why I directed my team to work with the governments of Israel and Lebanon to forge a ceasefire,” Biden said. Read more
Chad complains it is fighting terrorism “alone” in the Lake Chad Basin (AfricaNews)
Chadian defence forces have intensified their operations to track down Boko Haram fighters.
This follows a deadly attack in late October in which the terror group targeted a garrison in the Lake Chad basin killing about 40 soldiers. In the aftermath, the president launched operation Haskanite. Authorities say they have killed about 100 fighters.
“I can confirm that there are no more Boko Haram groups on Chadian soil,” the governor of the Lake province du Lac. Read more

Just one day after Drake filed a petition accusing Universal Music of conspiring with Spotify to falsely boost the numbers of Kendrick Lamar’s diss track “Not Like Us,” the Canadian rapper has filed a second action, this one in Texas, claiming that UMG was aware that the song “falsely” accused him of pedophilia, but chose to distribute it anyway.
It also claims that UMG “funneled payments” to iHeart, the country’s largest radio network, as part of a “pay-to-play scheme” to promote the song on radio. Read more
4 people killed in India in violence over survey of 16th-century mosque (Independent)
Four people were killed in India’s northern state of Uttar Pradesh after violence erupted during a court-ordered survey of a 16th-century mosque.
The clashes between locals and police over the Mughal-era Shahi Jama Masjid in Sambhal, which is at the centre of a legal dispute claiming that it was built on a Hindu temple site, led to the death of four Muslim youths and resulted in injuries to at least 20 police officers on Sunday.
Photos and videos from the site also showed several vehicles being set ablaze. Read more

NFL star handcuffed before game sees his traffic ticket dropped (BBC)
Two months after NFL star Tyreek Hill was pulled from his car and handcuffed outside his home stadium during a traffic stop, the citations a police officer gave him have been dropped.
Police bodycam footage shows the Miami Dolphins wide receiver lying face down on the road while an officer kneels on his back. Hill has repeatedly called for the officer to be fired.
Hill was accused of careless driving and not wearing a seatbelt after police said they pulled him over for speeding. Read more
