Nigeria’s Teni the Entertainer, Naira Marley and Rema, Ghana’s Dope Nation also took home trophies. The event, which kicked off with a red carpet show around 10 pm on Saturday night, ended with a performance by Davido at about 3:30 am on Sunday.

Teni won the Best Female MVP award for ‘Billionaire’; Dope Nation took home Best Duo/Group award for ‘Toofan Ziguidi’; while Rema emerged Best New MVP Artiste. ‘All for you’ won Joeboy the Best POP Artiste, with DJ Spinall getting the DJ of the Year award. Kenyan rapper, Khaligraph Jones, also won the Best Hip-hop Artist of the Year award for his song ‘Leave me alone,’ while Nigerian Jay Synth bagged the African Producer of the Year award for producing Teni’s ‘Case’ song.
