A 21-year-old man, Idris Aderemi, who allegedly stole phone accessories worth N1.78 million, on Friday appeared before an Ojo Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State.
The defendant, whose address was not given, is standing trial before Magistrate L J.K. Layeni, on a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The prosecutor, Dr Simon Uche, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on April 16, 2022, at Fancy and Furniture Plaza located at the Alaba international Market in Ojo.
Uche alleged that the defendant conspired with another person at large to steal the phone accessories from Cap Link Communication Ltd. at the plaza.
The alleged offences contravene Sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
Layeni granted the defendant bail in the sum of N300,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He adjourned the case until Feb. 15 for trial. (NAN)
