229 new cases take Nigeria’s COVID-19 infections beyond 8,000 mark

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Monday confirmed a total number of 229 new coronavirus cases in the country via its Twitter handle.

This brings the total for Nigeria to 8,068 with 2,311 discharges and 233 deaths. 

According to NCDC’s tweet, Nigeria’s economic hub Lagos State has the highest number of 90, while Katsina,Imo, Kano, FCT and Plateau have 27, 26, 23, 14 and 12, respectively. The remaining nine states are Ogun with nine, Delta seven, Borno and Rivers five each, Oyo four, Gombe three, Osun two, while Anambra and Bayelsa have one each.
