245 new cases of coronavirus swell Nigeria’s infections to 7,261

Nigeria Friday recorded 245 new COVID-19 cases across the country in 21 states and the FCT.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made the confirmation of the new cases via tweet bringing the total to 7,261.

NCDC said that 131 new cases were recorded in Lagos, 16 in Jigawa, 13 for Ogun and 12 in Borno. Nine cases each were recorded for Kaduna, Oyo, Rivers and Ebonyi, while Kano got eight, Kwara seven, Katsina five, Akwa Ibom and Sokoto got three apiece. Bauchi and Yobe had two cases each, while Anambra, Gombe, Niger, Ondo, Plateau, FCT and Bayelsa recorded one case each.

The number of total recoveries is now 2007, while that of deaths from the virus is 221.
