An Igbosere Magistrate’s Court in Lagos has sentenced three men to two months imprisonment each for stealing alcoholic beverages, without option of fine.
The men that were sentenced to prison are Leke Falode, 22; Braimoh Clinton, 23, and Anthony Benjamin, 29.
They were arraigned on a three-count charge of conspiracy, burglary and theft. Magistrate A. A. Famobiwo sentenced them to two months imprisonment after finding them guilty of conspiracy and burglary.
The prosecutor, Sergeant Mawari Solomon, during the arraignment, told the court that the convicts conspired with others still at large to commit the alleged offences.
He said they broke the cupboard of one Suliat Adeoye and stole 50 cans of a malt drink valued at N7,500; 100 cans of beer, valued at N15,000, 70 pieces of juice valued at N10,500 and 180 sachets of an alcoholic drink, valued at N18,000.
