33-year-old Okada rider arrested for defiling primary school student in Ibadan

Police have confirmed the arrest of a 33-year-old motorcyclist popularly known as an okada rider, one Adebayo Ayowole, for alleged defilement of a primary school pupil in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Similarly, two other suspects identified as Rotimi Olaokun and Aderemi Yusuf have been apprehended for alleged stealing to robbery at different locations in Oyo State.

The suspects were paraded before the newsmen at the State Police Command Headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan, on Friday.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adewale Osifeso, in his reports, said Ayowole, a motorcyclist, for alleged defilement of a primary school pupil at an undisclosed location in Ibadan.

The suspect, as made known by the police, went to pick the victim up from her school without the consent of her parents.

The reports added, ‘On 24/9/2024, the suspect, one Adebayo Ayowole’m’ age 33, who was the motorcycle man to the survivor, went to pick her up from school without the consent of her parents and dropped her in her mother’s shop without calling or informing her mother.

In furtherance of the above, the survivor complained of pains in her vagina immediately after she sighted her mother and reported that it all started after the suspect touched her private part.

After being confronted, the suspect denied committing the alleged offence.

“However, after the survivor was taken to Police Medical Clinic Agodi Ibadan for medical examination and treatment, it was further revealed that though the survivor’s hymen was intact, it reflected tampering.

The suspect would be charged to court upon completion of investigations. Updates will be further provided accordingly.

In another development, the police have paraded two suspects for stealing and robbery.

The suspects are identified as Rotimi Olaokun and Aderemi Yusuf.

Olaokun, according to the report, was allegedly apprehended inside LTE Security Mast Mapo, where he was cutting a large quantity of telecommunication cable valued at several millions of naira, while Yusuf was alleged of using a tricycle to dispossess passengers of their valuables. (Tribune)
