A Magistrate Court, sitting in Osogbo, capital of Osun, on Monday sentenced a 35-year-old woman, identified as Nafisat Raji to 12 months imprisonment for stealing Tecno phone, worth N15,000.
The convict, a mother of three children was docked before Magistrate O. A Oloyade one-count charge of stealing.
The Police Prosecutor, Inspector Fagboyinbo Abiodun, informed the court that the convict an indigene of Ede committed the offence on the 10th of March 2018 around 11.00 pm at Tinumola Estate in Osogbo, explaining that the convict entered into the shop of one Rofisat Bolaji and stole one Techno mobile phone estimated at N15,000.
He further explained that the convict, who is a divorcee was apprehended by the people around the area and was handed over to police after being subjected to thorough beating. Read more
