4,000 Nigerian refugees in Cameroon decline return (Punch)

Some 4,000 Nigerian refugees in Cameroon are said to be scared to return to the country for fear of their safety.

This is coming after 133 refugees of Adamawa State origin voluntarily returned from Cameroon to their homes.

The Executive Secretary, Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency, Muhammad Suleiman, announced the re-integration of the 133 refugees back to Madagali and Mubi on Tuesday in his office.

He added that the repatriation of the other 4,000 refugees might have been stalled over the refusal of the refugees to “voluntarily want to return for fear of their safety.” Read more
