The Nigerian Presidency on Tuesday announced the cancellation of the weekly meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) scheduled for Wednesday.
Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, disclosed this in a statement in Abuja.
The cancellation, according to Adesina, was as a result of the ongoing primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
This is not the first time this administration has put off the weekly FEC meeting this year alone. Find below the other times.
On July 18, 2018 the meeting was shelved for the sixth time in the life of the administration but no official reason was given for the cancellation.
On June 20, 2018, the meeting was cancelled for Sallah Public Holiday.
For Wednesday, April 4, 2018, it did not hold due to the public holiday declared on March 30 and Monday, April 2 because of the Easter celebration.
According to the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, the meeting was cancelled on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, as a result of the participation of President Buhari and a significant number of ministers at the High-Level Meeting of the International Conference on Lake Chad Basin, at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, for the better part of that day.
