Family, friends and church members from far and wide gathered in Mushin, Lagos, on Sunday, May 11, 2025, to joyously celebrate the 80th birthday of Special Apostle Abraham Idowu Oluwatuyi. The thanksgiving service, held at the C & S Church (Ayo Ni O) Olorunsogo, was a testament to eight decades filled with “God’s love, laughter, and adventure,” as stated on the special invitation.
The service was led by Most Senior Apostle Prophet Gbadebo Onasanya and featured significant contributions from church leaders.
The celebrant, Special Apostle Oluwatuyi, himself read the Bible lesson from Psalm 71, while Special Apostle Prohrt Tunde Adigun recited the Creed. Heartfelt prayers were offered by Apostle Prophet Yemi Ademiluyi, Special/MAA Bola Oyewale, and Most Senior Apostle Prophet Emmanuel Olawuyi.
In a moving sermon, Senior Special Apostle TPL Dr M.A.Adedire lauded Special Apostle Oluwatuyi’s humility, integrity, and dedication to the church. Describing him as a man of policy who always speaks the truth, Dr. Adedire highlighted his significant contributions, noting, “It was because of his humility that he was able to gather Shilo together.” Drawing from Proverbs 9:11, the sermon emphasised the blessings of a life lived diligently with the Lord, assuring the congregation of long life and fulfillment in Jesus’ name.
Dr Adedire also reflected on the passing of the celebrant’s beloved late wife, sharing his initial uncertainty about continuing church attendance but ultimately affirming his unwavering faith.Following the service, guests were treated to entertainment at Home Touch by Shepherdhill Baptist Church in Obanikoro, Lagos.
The atmosphere was filled with gratitude and well wishes for the beloved Special Apostle as he marked this significant milestone surrounded by family members, friends and well wishers.
