My husband accused me of hiring badoo boys to kill him, wife tells court (Punch)
A 43-year-old housewife, Titilayo Akaba, on Thursday asked a Badagry Customary Court in Topo Garage, to dissolve her marriage to Maselin Akada, whom she accused of being a habitual gossip and liar.
Titilayo, a food vendor, who resides at Baale Street., Torikoh, Badagry, in her application for divorce, told the court that she had spent a night in police custody because of her husband’s lying habit.

4 men arraigned for defrauding bank customers of N1bn (Vanguard)
Four suspected internet fraudsters were, Wednesday, arraigned before an Igbosere Magistrate’s Court, Lagos, for allegedly defrauding customers of a bank of about N1 billion.
The suspects, Gideon Olatimeyin, Osita Martyns, Daramola Akanji and Abiodun Aina, were arraigned before Magistrate Folashade Botoku on a four-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
Prosecutor from the Police Special Fraud Unit, Benedict Chima, alleged that the suspects fraudulently effected an unauthorised modification of the bank’s computer data by increasing the transaction limit. Read more
2 men arrested 2 years after murder of Austria-based Nigerian (Vanguard)
Two self-confessed members of Eiye confraternity have been arrested in connection with the murder of an Austria-based Nigerian in Iba Housing Estate, Lagos.
The deceased, Michael Chinenu, who visited Nigeria for his traditional marriage, was allegedly stabbed to death two years ago during a fight with the suspects— Olakunle Ogunyemi, popularly known as Pedro and Anthony Bello, popularly called T-Boy, at a football pitch in Iba.
Trouble, as gathered, started after both parties visited the football pitch to watch a friendly match between two communities. During the match, the deceased and Ogunyemi were embroiled in a verbal confrontation, which degenerated into a fight.
When it became apparent that the deceased was overpowering Ogunyemi, Bello allegedly used a knife to stab the deceased in the chest, in his bid to assist his colleague. Read more

Mohammed, a businessman, residing in Dopemu area of Agege in Lagos state, is being tried for conspiracy and assault.
The Prosecutor, Assistant Superintendent of Police Clifford Ogu, said that the accused committed the offences on August 3 at his residence. Read more
2 housekeepers in court for N4.7m theft (Vanguard)
Two housekeepers — Favour Sunday and Christopher Ikpam — who allegedly stole their employer’s 10,000 pounds (N4.7 million), on Wednesday appeared in an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court.
Sunday, 27, and Ikpam 27, who reside with their employer at No 38 Alhaji Jubril Laide St., Magodo, Lagos, are facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
The accused, according to Prosecutor Victor Eruada, committed the offences with others still at large on July 24 at their employer’s residence. Read more
Lagos teacher defiles Down Syndrome teenager (Punch)
A class teacher, Wasiu Kabiru, has been arrested by the police for allegedly defiling a 17-year-old teenager in the Surulere area of Lagos.
PUNCH Metro gathered that the victim was a student at the Down Syndrome Foundation, Surulere, where Kabiru was a teacher.
The 29-year-old allegedly had sex with her in the school toilet. Read more
Alleged torture: Journalist seeks NUJ’s help to tackle LASPOTECH (Punch)
A journalist, Folake Sokoya, has petitioned the Lagos council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) over alleged torture by security guards at the Lagos State Polytechnic, Ikorodu.
Sokoya, whose battle with the Lagos State-owned institution had been in public space for a while, said she had been denied justice by appropriate government agencies.
She noted that the institution had manipulated the narrative in its favour, hence the need for the state NUJ to come to her aid. Read more
Man, 35, docked for allegedly raping 67-year-old woman (Vanguard)
A 35-year-old man, Samuel Gbodogbe, was on Monday brought before a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly raping a 67-year-old woman, Mrs Ayinke Ogunade.
Gbodogbe, whose address was not stated, is facing a four-count charge of rape, indecent assault, sexual assault and breach of peace.
The Prosecutor, ASP Akpan Ikem, told the court that the accused committed the offences on September 9, at about 3pm. at Okuju Ilado, Badagry. Read more
Police nab Scammer, Lagos robbery kingpin (Vanguard)
Seven months after a notorious robbery kingpin and his gang killed a Police sergeant in Akala axis of Lagos State, officers in Area D Command, Mushin, have arrested the kingpin in an operation coordinated by the Commander in charge of Area D, ACP Akinbayo Olasoji.
Police sources told Vanguard that the notorious criminal, Taiwo Gbolahan, popularly known as Scammer in the underworld, was arrested in a ghetto and dreaded den located in Akala, after he was tracked with a phone he stole from a victim in Orile Iganmu.
Giving further details of his arrest, the source said: “On September 18, at about 1.45p.m., Police got intelligence on one Taiwo Gbolahan aka Scammer, of 23 Oyegunle Street, a gang member of the suspects that attacked policemen sometime in February at Akala axis, which led to the death of a police sergeant.
