Adamawa plans amnesty for criminal gang (Punch)

The Senator-elect for Adamawa North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Clif Ishaku, has disclosed that the state government is planning an amnesty for a criminal gang known as Yan shila boys terrorizing residents in the state.

The Peoples Democratic Party lawmaker stated that the Adamawa State Governor-elect, Ahmadu Fintiri, would give a two-month window for the gang members to renounce their membership and embrace the amnesty offered by the government or face sanctions.

The Yan Shila boys is notorious for stealing motorcycles and dispossessing commuters of their valuables.

Ishaku revealed the amnesty programme on Sunday in Yola, while announcing plans to establish a leadership and development centre to galvanise the transformation of youths in the state. Read more
