Detectives from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) from Ibadan zonal office were on Thursday attacked by dangerous dogs by suspected internet criminals in attempt to resist arrest.
The EFCC officials got a dose of ‘corruption fighting back’, as the dog unleashed attacks on them. Upon receipt of intelligence reports and launch of preliminary investigations into their alleged illegal activities, officers of the commission had stormed the suspects’ hideout at Agara area of Ibadan at the early hours of the day. Man in court for impersonating UN staff, stealing (PMNews)
A 29-year-old man, Oluwaseyi Igboroodowo, who allegedly impersonated a staff of United Nations and stole a parcel worth N175,000, on Thursday appeared before an Igbosere Magistrates’ Court, Lagos.
Igboroodowo, whose address was not provided, is facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, impersonation and stealing, to which he pleaded not guilty. Read more

Justice Ahmed Mohammed of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Thursday ordered Andrew Yakubu, a former General Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to open his defence on July 3, 2019 in the $9.8 million fraud allegation brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Yakubu had through his counsel, Ahmed Raji (SAN), filed a no-case submission on December 5, 2018, arguing that the evidence led by the prosecution’s seven witnesses did not establish a case against him, and so the charges should be dismissed. Read more
