Akpabio resigns as senate minority leader (Guardian)

Former Akwa Ibom State governor Senator Godswill Akpabio has resigned as Nigerian senate’s minority leader.

Akpabio’s resignation came days after he left the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

“Senator Akpabio thanked the Senate leadership, the minority leader, all distinguished Senators, his party the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the opportunity to lead the PDP Caucus in the last three years,” Akpabio said in a statement signed by his media aide, Jackson Udom.
