EQ practitioner and certified life coach, Oyinkansola Alabi, has been unveiled as a key contributor to the Alder State of the Church Report which was presented to the public on Monday, May 20, 2019, at a Press briefing in Lagos.
The Alder Church Report, which was compiled by Alder Consulting, a leading Nigerian creative intelligence firm, contains expert insights from some of Nigeria’s finest thought leaders on a range of subjects regarding the church.
Among the contributors are Red Media co-founder Chude Jideonwo, Joy Inc. founder Godman Akinlabi, The Elevation NG Lead Pastor, Praise Fowowe, Institute of Family Engineering and Development Africa founder Leke Alder, Alder consulting Strategy Consultant and The Emotions Doctor, Oyinkansola Alabi.
Alabi pointed out in an article titled “Peer Pressure And Depression in the Age of Social Media”, that both social media and peer pressure have combined to create a positive and negative impact on our society.
According to her, social media could be a creative solution to communication, but it also doubles as one of the greatest brewers of envy and jealousy. Likewise, peer pressure originally meant to be a positive stimulant for personal development is now a major cause of depression in Nigeria.
Speaking at the press briefing, Alabi said: “Churches should establish a therapy hub, to address mental health issues among members.”
Oyinkansola will be hosting the Emotional Intelligence week 2019 on the 5th -7th of June, 2019.
