Alleged fraud: Ganduje, wife, 6 others to appear in court Thursday

The National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC),  Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, his wife, Hafsat and six others are expected to appear before a Kano state high court on Thursday on charges bordering on alleged bribery, diversion and misappropriation of funds running into billions of naira.

The NNPP-led Kano State Government instituted the suit before justice Amina Adamu Aliyu.

The court had on June 5 granted leave to the applicants to serve the respondents through substituted means which was effected on June 6, 2024 through advertorials in two national newspapers, Daily Trust and The Nation.

The respondents in the matter are Abdullahi Umar Ganduje (1st respondent), his wife Hafsat (2nd respondent), Abubakar Bawuro (3rd respondent), Umar Abdullahi Umar (4th respondent), Jibrilla Muhammad (5th), Lamash Properties Limited (6th), Safari Textiles Ltd and Lesage General Enterprises, as 7th and 8th respondents respectively.

At the last adjourned date only Nuraini Jimoh (SAN) represented the sixth respondent in court as counsel, but other respondents including Ganduje were not represented.

The presiding judge, Justice Adamu, fixed July 11, for a hearing in the matter. (DailyTrust)
