Commissioner of Police in Ebonyi state, Musa Kimo has warned members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, not to use the sit-at-home exercise to harass and intimidate law-abiding citizens of the state. Court remands two herdsmen for alleged robbery (Punch)

An Ilorin Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday remanded two herdsmen, Abubarkar Mohammed, and Mohammed Isha, for allegedly robbing people on the Ilorin-Ogbomosho highway on Aug. 28. The Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria(COREN) and the Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti (ABUAD), have harped on the need for tertiary institutions to run accredited courses, warning that it is illegal not to do so. The institutions, which gave the warning on Wednesday when COREN’s accreditation team visited ABUAD’s College of Engineering to assess the university pointed out that such accreditation is carried out by the National Universities Commission (NUC) and other regulatory agencies. Man accused of defiling 10-yr-old boy remanded in prison (Vanguard)

A Kano Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday ordered the remand of a 45-year-old man, Yusuf Usman, for alleged defilement of a 10-year-old boy. Usman, who resides at Dandishe Quarters, Kano, had pleaded not guilty to a one-count charge of committing an unnatural offence. The Prosecutor, Insp Pogu Lale, had told the court that one Mubarak Hamza, reported the case at Dala Police Division in Kano on July 30. Read more
