3 ‘Yahoo’ fraudsters arrested over theft of female undies (DailyTrust)
The police in Ogun State have arrested three suspected internet fraudsters, widely known in Nigeria as Yahoo boys, for allegedly stealing female panties.
The suspects, according to the police, were suspected members of a deadly cult gang, the Eiye confraternity, which was was learnt had been terrorizing residents of the Agbowa area of Ogun State. Read more
Ex-convicts, other arrested for robbery in Lagos (Punch)
Men of the Rapid Response Squad have arrested two ex-convicts and one other suspect for alleged robbery in the Lekki area of Lagos State.
PUNCH Metro gathered that the suspects, Emmanuel Michael, Mohammed Abubakar and Simeon Michael, allegedly robbed a 25-year-old woman in Lekki Phase I on Monday, May 6, 2019.
It was learnt that the men were arrested by a patrol team after the victim called for help. Read more

To boost the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON’s) ability to recover high-profile debts estimated at N5trillion, the Federal Government has resolved to bar debtor companies/individuals from its official businesses.
Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, who dropped the hint at the weekend, disclosed plans by government to set up an inter-agency collaboration framework comprising relevant government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), and supervised by his office, to ensure that such debtors are not allowed to do business with government henceforth. The Lagos State Sports Trust Fund says it aims to raise N10bn in five years, starting from the 2020, to develop 10 athletes from 10 different sports and train 10 coaches in each sport annually.

Nigerian Breweries Plc has recommended total dividend of N19.401 billion for the 2018 financial year.
This amounted to dividend of N2.43 per ordinary share of 50 kobo each.
The company attributed the 100 per cent dividend payout as a demonstration of its strong balance sheet and robust cash flow. Read more

Sokoto State yesterday said it would soon actualise the cattle breeding project in the state as 117 herds of cattle arrived in the state from South Africa.

Former WBC welterweight champion Carlos Baldomir will go to trial on July 25th in Santa Fe, Argentina to answer charges of sexual abuse. The 48-year-old former boxer is accused of sexually abusing his 8-year-old daughter.
According to Boxing Scene prosecutor Alejandra Del Rio Ayala of the Gefas Office (Fiscal Unity of Gender, Family, and Sexual Violence of the MPA) will ask for the court for a 20 year prison sentence for Baldomir if he is found guilty. Read more

Nigeria sets record in Japan (Nation)
Nigeria’s men team in the 4X200metre set a new national record at the just concluded IAAF World Relays Yokohama 2019 despite finishing last in the final of the event in Japan.
Also, the women team failed to make it to the final of the 4X400m and 4X100m from the heat events held on Saturday.
In the 4X400m, the female team finished fifth with their season best of 3.32.10secs, while in the 4X100m, they had their season-best of 45.07secs after finishing fourth in heat two. Read more
