Anioma goes agog on Easter Monday

The 16th Anioma Cultural Festival kicks off on Easter Monday, April 22, at Arcade Ground, Nnebisi Road, Asaba, Delta State, from 11am.

The celebrated annual fest, presented by the Organisation for the Advancement of Anioma Culture (OFAAC), will feature compelling dances, wrestling, arts and crafts.

The theme for this year’s festival is “Celebrating our People”, and immense support comes from reputable institutions such as Contemporary Group, Seamans Aromatic Schnapps, Onu Ika Nigeria, Zenith Bank and Champion Breweries.

The recently re-elected Delta State Governor, Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa, a distinguished Anioma son, leads the array of esteemed guests.

Royal fathers from the towns are resplendent with their blessings. As the culture umbrella of the Anioma people, OFAAC is determined to build bridges by inviting dancing troupes and guests from the other senatorial zones of the state, that is, Delta South and Delta Central.

According to OFAAC President Arc Kester Ifeadi, “The essence of this Festival is the unity which it creates and the promotion of the spirit of oneness which bridges together all the communities in the nine local government areas that make up the Delta North Senatorial District in Delta State.”
