Antoine Griezmann claims he lost sleep agonising over whether to join Barcelona in the summer.
The forward has been the subject of intense transfer speculation in the last two years, with Manchester United failing in attempts to persuade Griezmann to come to Old Trafford a year ago.
Barcelona chased Griezmann in the last transfer window, and it was thought Atletico Madrid were in serious danger of losing their talisman to a direct rival.
Griezmann considers himself on the same level as Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, and admitted the decision to stay at Atletico was a very stressful one to make.
‘There were times when I wasn’t feeling good,’ Griezmann told Telefoot.
‘I spoke about it with my wife. I woke her up at three in the morning and asked her, ‘What are we going to do?’ Because I tried to talk about it, but she can’t help me, she doesn’t know what I’m thinking. Read more
