Aproko Doctor denounces AI-driven misinformation in new statement

The team behind popular Nigerian healthcare advocate Aproko Doctor has issued a strong rebuttal regarding recent falsehoods circulating on Facebook.

In a media statement released by Ethel Neboh, Aproko Doctor’s manager, they address the misuse of the doctor’s image, voice, and likeness through AI-driven manipulation, which has been promoting a so-called “blood vessel cleansing” product.

The ads reportedly accuse pharmaceutical companies of being a “mafia” and allege an explosive incident at his home.

Neboh clarified that Aproko Doctor has never endorsed or advertised any medication with such claims and is committed solely to offering credible health information to the public. Furthermore, rumors of an explosion in his residence are entirely unfounded, and both he and his family are safe.

The team has alerted authorities and taken steps to combat these malicious actions, urging the public to be cautious about misinformation. They expressed gratitude for the community’s continued support for Aproko Doctor’s mission of health awareness and positive impact. (Vanguard)
