Ariana Grande split from Pete Davidson ‘after struggling with Mac Miller’s death’ (Metro)

Ariana Grande’s decision to split from Pete Davidson may have been influenced by the sudden and tragic death of her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller.

The singer was left devastated after Mac died from an apparent overdose in September having been close since they met when Ariana was just 19.

It’s now been claimed that the shock and emotional turmoil of his death may have contributed to the 25-year-old deciding to end her engagement.

TMZ claims she was in a ‘dark place’ after Mac died, although crucially: ‘she didn’t blame herself – she feels she did everything she could to get him sober – but it left her an emotional wreck.’

Sources claimed to the publication that Ariana had a wakeup call and realised that as she needed to deal with her grief she couldn’t be fully focused on her relationship, and that she felt things may have moved too fast – having got engaged after just a month.

Mac Miller had been 26 at the time of his death, having battled for years with a drink and drug addiction. His body was found by police at his home in San Fernando Valley. Read more
