Artmiabo International Art Festival 2024 gears up for ‘Sculptors Odyssey’

The 2024 edition of the Artmiabo International Art Festival (AMIAF) is just around the corner, with the theme “Sculptors Odyssey”. To take place from April 29th to May 1st at Ebonylife Place, Victoria Island, Lagos, tickets and the festival programme guide are available through the link: https://wakaevents.ng/en-ng/events/artmiabo-international-art-festival-2024.

The festival promises a vibrant experience, featuring musical performances by the renowned Mádé Kuti and up-and-coming artiste Jikume Bethlehem.

For aspiring sculptors, AMIAF 2024 offers a valuable platform. This year, four talented young sculptors will have the opportunity to showcase their work alongside established artists, gaining exposure and recognition.

Beyond the artistic displays, AMIAF delves into the business of art with a diverse panel discussion on the Art Economy and its impact on the Nigerian art scene. The panel features a range of experts, including: Emeka Enyadike, a Sports Executive and media strategist, who will share insights on maximizing global media exposure for Nigerian artists. Omooba Engr Adedoyin Yemisi Shiloh, a prominent art collector and entrepreneur, who will discuss the significance of Nigerian art and artists in the global market. Matthew Oyedele, a young art historian, artist, and curator, who will explore how the Nigerian economy influences the sustainability of art development.

Dotun Popoola, an artist and marketing expert, will present a “Pitch Deck” on the 4 Ps of Marketing (Product, Price, Place, Promotion) tailored to the art world. His presentation will focus on attracting a global audience and elevate artists through effective packaging, pricing, presentation, and placement.

This year’s AMIAF recognises the rich artistic heritage of Nigeria. A documentary on the Nok civilisation, the cradle of Nigerian sculpture, by Yahaya Maikori and Nze Ed Keazor, will be screened during the festival. This screening highlights the importance of understanding Nigeria’s artistic roots.

Artmiabo International Art Festival 2024 is an exciting opportunity to celebrate the world of sculpture, explore the art economy and witness the blossoming talent of Nigerian artists.
