At least 12 people were killed, including a sheriff’s deputy, when a gunman opened fire Wednesday night inside a country music bar in Southern California, authorities said.
Authorities were first called to the scene of the shooting at the Borderline Bar & Grill country bar in Thousand Oaks at 11:20 p.m.
Ventura County Sheriff Geoff Dean said that Sgt. Ron Helus, a 29-year-veteran of law enforcement, is among the dead. He was shot several times upon entering the bar. Read more
