Bank clerk ‘forced’ to steal from elderly customers by boyfriend (Metro)

A woman has avoided a prison sentence for emptying the accounts of elderly people while working at a bank, because she was being forced into it by her boyfriend.

Rohima Khanam, 22, secretly diverted cash from Halifax customers aged between 76 and 87 into her controlling boyfriend’s account.

She took a total of £5,700 from four victim’s at the branch in Hyde, Greater Manchester, between January and March, 2017.

Khanam was caught when the daughter of one of her victims noticed £4,500 missing from his account. Read more
