After out dunking Mali by 74 – 59 points in their semifinal game on Sunday, reigning African Champions, D’Tigress of Nigeria has secured one of the continent’s ticket at the FIBA Africa Pre-Olympics Qualifiers in Maputo, Mozambique for the Olympics Qualifying Tournament (OQT) to be held next year.
D’Tigress started their campaign on a winning note after strolling over Democratic Republic of Congo (DR of C), 20-0 points and then Mozambique 57-48 points on Saturday to qualify for the semifinal against Mali.
In other semifinal game also played on Sunday, hosts Mozambique shocked former African champions, Senegal by 56-49 points to pick the other WOQT ticket. Read more
