Brendan Rodgers responds to Manchester United interest in James Maddison (Metro)

Brendan Rodgers accepts a move to Manchester United could be ‘too hard to turn down’ for James Maddison, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reportedly desperate to land the Leicester City playmaker.

Maddison, 22, has impressed since joining Leicester from Norwich last season and has two assists to his name already in the first five games of the new Premier League campaign.

Solskjaer – who is trying to build an English core at Old Trafford – is thought to have identified Maddison as his top target.

Leicester, who sold Harry Maguire to the Red Devils this summer, will be reluctant to lose another high quality player to their Premier League rivals, but Rodgers admitted it’s tough to stop players moving to super clubs of the ilk of United and Liverpool. Read more
