Bride-to-be faked dying of cancer to get £15,000 from charity (Metro)

A bride-to-be pretended she was dying of cancer so she could bag thousands from a charity that funds weddings for the terminally ill.

Carla Louise Evans, 29, claimed she had been diagnosed with bladder cancer and liver failure so she could receive £15,000 from the organisation.

She claimed she didn’t have long to live and forged an NHS consultant urologist’s signature to fool the Wish For A Wedding charity, a court heard.

Mother-of-two Evans only needed to contribute £500 towards her dream wedding and the charity would pay the rest. Read more
