British Council’s 2nd Future Leaders Connect event holds in Lagos Aug 2

The British Council in Nigeria will be hosting the 2nd Future Leaders Connect selection event tomorrow, August 2, 2018 in Lagos.

The event will be Livestreamed on Facebook at 10am.

Future Leaders Connect is a development programme by the British Council to develop future leaders, prepare them for the world ahead of them. This is to enable the next generation of leaders to be skilled, innovative and globally connected people, able to make and respond to change with effective policy making.

Last year, the first Future Leaders Connect Event was hosted in Abuja where 12 finalists were shortlisted out of the 4,000 applications and six winners emerged.

This year, Nigeria received over 9,500 applications, which were shortlisted to 11 finalists. In a couple of hours, these young finalists will have just five minutes to persuade a panel of judges why their policy idea (on health, education, gender equality, environment, etc.) could make the world a better place, and six winners will be chosen to travel to the UK to undergo advanced leadership training at the University of Cambridge and meet with Members of the UK Houses of Parliament.
