In a bold exploration of human creativity and imagination, emerging artist Bryan Ebbi launched his first solo exhibition, “Spontaneous Combustion,” on January 4, 2025, transforming fleeting moments of inspiration into powerful visual narratives.
“As an art-preneur, this solo debut represents both a personal milestone and a testament to the power of creative entrepreneurship,” Ebbi told reporters during a virtual press briefing the day the exhibition opened at The Art Hotel in Lagos.
The exhibition, which showcases his distinctive graphic style, examines how everyday experiences and emotions can spark extraordinary creative journeys. Through a combination of vivid colours, dynamic forms and layered textures, each piece captures the transformative power of spontaneous inspiration.
“Every artwork in this collection tells a story of how small, often unnoticed impulses can catalyze profound journeys of expression and thought,” says Ebbi, founder of Canvas by Bryan™, a brand known for immortalising memories through portraiture.
The artist’s journey began in his early years, nurtured by supportive parents and an environment rich in creativity. This foundation led him to develop his unique artistic voice, creating works that, in his words, “provoke the mind and illuminate the heart.”
