Cesc Fabregas waved goodbye to the Chelsea fans on Saturday, but his move to Monaco might not be quite as imminent as previously thought.
The Spaniard has agreed a three-and-a-half year deal with the Ligue 1 club and was planning on linking up with his new side this week, but his switch could be delayed.
The Telegraph reports that Chelsea are unwilling to let Fabregas depart without a suitable replacement having been brought in.
If a new midfield signing has not been secured then the 31-year-old would move to the Ligue 1 side on a free transfer in the summer instead of the deal currently in place. Read more
