Chandelle Books to publish USA/Africa edition of Echezonachukwu Nduka’s “Waterman”

Chandelle Books, an imprint of EfineGlobal Publishing based in Indiana USA, has acquired full rights to publish the USA/Africa edition of Nigerian poet and pianist, Echezonachukwu Nduka’s poetry book Waterman for readers from both territories.

Nduka recently signed the publishing deal with the publisher, according to a statement.

Waterman is Nduka’s second full-length poetry book. First published in September, 2020 by Griots Lounge Publishing Canada, it is a collection of 59 acclaimed poems.

Erin Castaldi, Poet Laureate of the City of Somers Point, NJ, describes Waterman as “A wonderfully winding work of a voice matured,”  while Tanure Ojaide, describes the poems as, “carefully crafted, highly descriptive, and flow rhythmically.”

Waterman situates itself in enchanting musicality while exploring themes on innocence, memory, religion, music, and the complex corridors of political history. In Waterman, the metaphysical is interspersed with the quotidian, the philosophical, leaving us with timeless writing that takes readers on a journey of imagination and the rediscovery of humanity in all its glories and shortcomings.

A concert pianist of Nigerian origin, Nduka’s Waterman is symphonic, reflective, evocative, yet damning. This book is, in many ways, a testament to how the author views the world through the lens of music.
