Chelsea star David Luiz has admitted he’s no closer to signing a new deal at the club with the Blues unwilling to offer him more than a one-year deal.
The Brazilian is out of contract at the end of the season but is happy to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge after rediscovering his form under Maurizio Sarri.
However, Luiz is unhappy with Chelsea’s policy of only issuing one-year extensions to players over 30 and wants a contract longer in length if he’s to pen a new deal.
Sarri is keen for the club to re-think their policy as he wants to keep Luiz, as well as Cesc Fabregas who is also entering the final six months of his deal.
But the club have intimated that they are unwilling to do so according to the Guardian and Luiz has admitted he’s no closer to an agreement. Read more
