Cleric arraigned for motorcycle theft in Ekiti (Punch)

The police in Ekiti State, on Thursday, arraigned a 32-year-old cleric, Opeyemi Sunday, before an Ado-Ekiti Magistrates’ Court for stealing a motorcycle.

The police prosecutor, Inspector Caleb Leranmo, told the court that the defendant committed the offence around 12.30pm on August 25 in Afao-Ekiti, Ifelodun/Irepodun Local Government Area of the state.

Leranmo alleged that the defendant stole a Bajaj Boxer motorcycle with no number plate, belonging to one Yusuf Seyi.

The police prosecutor said the offence contravened Section 390 of the Criminal Code, Cap C 16, Vol. 1, Laws of Ekiti State, 2012. Read more
