Queensland Police have confirmed they are investigating allegations of an indecent assault of an athlete from a team visiting the Commonwealth Games.
Mauritius media reported it concerned an official in their nation’s team, and the athlete was allegedly pressured not to report the matter until her return.
The Commonwealth Games Federation said it was aware of the allegations and trusted police to investigate.
Queensland Police Commissioner Ian Stewart said no formal complaint had been laid, but police were looking into the matter. Read more
