Coronavirus infects another 460 people across Nigeria

A fresh 460 COVID-19 cases have been recorded for Nigeria, which now accounts for 30,249 confirmed cases. 

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known in an update via tweet Wednesday, announcing that 684 people have lost their lives to the virus in the country even as 12,373 have been discharged after testing negative.

Lagos recorded 150 cases, followed by Rivers-49, Oyo-43, Delta-38, FCT-26, Anambra-20, Kano-20, Plateau-18 and Edo-14.

The others are: Bayelsa-13, Enugu-13, Osun-12, Kwara-10, Borno-8, Ogun-7, Kaduna-6, Imo-4, Bauchi-3, Gombe-3, Niger-2 and Adamawa-1.

Latest figures in Africa put the confirmed coronavirus death toll at 11,955. There are 508,086 confirmed infections and 245,068 recoveries, according to the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention.

More than 12 million people around the world have been diagnosed with the coronavirus disease and at least 548,700 have died, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University. About 6.5 million patients have recovered. The United States and Brazil have reported the most cases and the highest death tolls.
