An Imo State High Court has nullified the removal from office of the Imo State Deputy Governor, Eze Madumere, Channels Television reports.
Mr Madumere was removed controversially from office by Imo State House of Assembly members over a political dispute with Governor Rochas Okorocha.
The court sitting in Owerri ruled on Tuesday that the removal did not follow due process. The court also ordered Mr Madumere to continue in office as deputy governor.
The crisis between Messrs Madumere and Okorocha was over who would succeed Mr Okorocha as Imo governor. While Mr Madumere insists on running for governor on the platform of the governing APC, Mr Okorocha reportedly backs his son-in-law to succeed him.
