COVID-19: Nigeria records highest number in single day of 553 new cases

Nigeria has recorded the highest number of COVID-19 infections in single day with 553 new cases on May 30, bringing the total to 9,855.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known in a tweet Saturday night.

There have been 2,856 recoveries with 273 deaths.

Lagos accounts for 378 new cases, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has 52, Delta 23, Edo 22, Rivers 14, Ogun 13 and Kaduna 12. The others are Kano with nine cases, Borno seven, Katsina six, Jigawa five, Oyo five, Yobe three, Plateau three and Osun one.
