Customs intercepts 180 pieces of donkey skin in Kebbi, rakes in N36m 

Kebbi State Area Command of Nigeria Customs Service has disclosed that it raked in over N36,000,000 revenue from borders.

The Command Comptroller, Earnest Ihejirike, said that the command, in a joint operation with whirlwind, has succeeded in intercepting outlawed goods coming through the borders.

They include 180 pieces of donkey skin, foreign rice, bales of used clothes, tourist cars and some medicaments believed to have been illegally smuggled into the country. 

Similarly, under the whirlwind operations, over 2,000 jerrycans of petrol were intercepted at various borders in Kebbi.

Also, the 72 cartons of medicines were handed over to National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control, NAFDAC, in Kebbi.

Earnest used the occasion to warn smugglers and their collaborators to desist from their nefarious activities within the state borders as officers and men of the Command are always ready to strike

He said: “Let me use this opportunity to thank our sister-agencies in the state for cordial synergy and my management for always contributing to the success of all our operations in the state

“I will further warn smugglers to stay off Kebbi as we will smoke them out wherever they may be and bring them to book,” he added. (Vanguard)
