Youths and Sports Development Minister, Solomon Dalung has reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to providing enabling environment for athletes to thrive under the various sporting federations.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the International Para-Powerlifting competition, which began on Sunday and will end on January 31, Dalung reminded the athletes that the beauty of participation in a competition went beyond the euphoria of winning.
Seven countries, including Ghana, Cameroun, Guinea, Cote d’Ivoire, Central African Republic, Tanzania and hosts, Nigeria are participating in the competition.
While urging the countries to compete fairly in the spirit of sportsmanship, Dalung also appealed to the officials to mediate with integrity and ensure that the competition ended credibly. Read more
