Daniel James has revealed the message he received from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer shortly before scoring his debut goal in Manchester United’s win over Chelsea on Sunday.
Two goals from Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial’s close-range strike put United three ahead before James was brought on as a substitute with 16 minutes remaining.
And the Wales international got off to an excellent start as he rounded off United’s victory with a goal in the 81st minute.
Asked what Solskjaer had said to him on the touchline before he was brought on, James told Optus Sport: ‘He just said go out, go and enjoy it, we’re 3-0 up, so just go and do what you’ve been doing in pre-season, work hard and you’ll get your opportunities.’ Read more
