Singers Davido and Adekunle Gold will be headlining Pharrel Williams music festival ‘Something in the Water,’ on June 19, 2022.
The music festival is returning to the delight of music and festival lovers after a brief halt due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Davido and Adekunle Gold’s performance at the music festival was confirmed by Pharrel and his team in an Instagram post on Monday.
The duo has a hit duet, ‘High,’ which ruled airwaves in 2021 and 2022.
They will be joining a long list of global music stars that include Lil Baby, Chloe x Halle, Lil Uzi Vert, Tyler, the Creator, Tierra Whack, Run the Jewels, Jon Batiste, Dave Matthews Band, and more.
The music festival, which began in Virginia Beach, Virginia in 2019, has relocated to Washington, D.C and will take place between June 17, 2022, and June 19, 2022 – a total of three days.
An elated Davido shared the music festival poster on his Instagram story in the early hours of Tuesday.
Pharrel, in a statement, said, “Something In The Water is a Black solution (LOVE) for a systemic issue. And this year we are taking our celebration to a higher platform — the nation’s Capital during Juneteenth Weekend. We want to show the world that there is Something In The Water across the whole DMV and I want to continue to bring awareness to the greatness within these communities and invite large corporations to show up for the people. DC has always been a deep inspiration to me as a person and a musician. “It is the land where Go-Go music was birthed which has provided so much for our people. Our sponsors continue to go the extra mile to show that Something In The Water is so much more than a festival. The goodwill we generate is a defining trait of who we are.” (Nation)
