Former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has revealed he played a pivotal role in the London club signing N’Golo Kante back in 2016.
Chelsea acquired Kante from Leicester City following his remarkable efforts during the Foxes’ 2015-16 Premier League-winning season.
The Frenchman then joined the Blues for a reported fee of £32 million in the summer of 2016, and has since won the Premer League and FA Cup with the club.
And Drogba, who played for Chelsea between 2004-12 as well as the 2014-15 season, insisted he advised the club to sign Kante years ago.
‘I’m very proud of him,’ said Drogba. ‘I’m glad he chose Chelsea and the club listened to my advice, that they chose him. I’m glad I did not make a mistake. Read more
