Nearly 17 years after he got married, Kolawole Olanrewaju from Ikire in Osun State says he has found out that all the four children he thought he had with his wife, Toyin Olanrewaju, belong to another man.
He said a DNA test conducted on the four children aged 16, 12, 8 and 5 at DDC DNA Diagnostic Centre in Ibadan, Oyo State returned negative, indicating he is not their biological father.
Kolawole, who made the revelation during a programme aired in Yoruba on Saturday on Agidigbo FM in Ibadan, Oyo State, said he had been having a running battle with Toyin whom he accused of engaging in extramarital affairs. Read more

Ahead of the November 11 governorship elections in Imo, Kogi, and Bayelsa states, the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has revealed the plans of the Nigeria Police Force for the exercise.
Egbetokun, who spoke as a guest on Channels Television’s People’s Townhall on Election Security in Abuja on Sunday, said the Force is adequately prepared for the exercise, assuring voters that the elections will be hitch-free.
Noting that the polls will take place in only three states of the Federation, the police chief stated that the Force will draw personnel from across the remaining 33 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to support the already existing security architecture. Read more

According to the agency’s weekly report made public by the Director Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi the three intelligence-led operations began with the raid of House 8/10 Hon. Wahuha Avenue, Divine Estate, Ago Palace area of Amuwo Odofin on Sunday 29th October, where 490,000 pills of tramadol and 81,519 bottles of codeine syrup measuring 4, 510, 000mls were recovered. Lagos lady dies after drinking insecticide (Punch)
The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the death of a 39-year-old woman, Lilian Nwarache, who drank an insecticide on Friday in the Iwaya area of Lagos State. She was said to have been frustrated with having an illness.
Nwarache was reported to have been suffering from a protracted illness and had been seeking a cure in a church in Iwaya, but became frustrated by the condition and drank a full bottle of insecticide on November 3, 2023.
She was alleged to have tried to jump into a canal after drinking the insecticide, but was prevented by passers-by and was rushed to a hospital where a doctor confirmed her dead. Read more
Lightning kills 3, injures 6 footballers in Anambra (Vanguard)
Lightning has killed three Senior Secondary School (SS3) students playing football during rainfall in Awka, the Anambra State capital.
Six others sustained injuries and were rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Needless to say, among the Swift albums this one performed better than in its first week is the original “1989” — Big Machine’s version, circa 2014 — which bowed nine years ago with a then-astonishing 1.297 million units.
Billboard reports that this is officially the biggest first week for any album since 2015, when Adele’s “25” debuted with 3.482 million album units. It’s also the sixth largest week for an album since Luminate’s predecessor, SoundScan, began providing immediate weekly data in 1991. Read more

Zayn Malik is reportedly writing new music for the upcoming animated movie 10 Lives.
According to Variety, Malik is serving as the film’s executive music producer, and will oversee the film’s musical direction. He will write music for 10 Lives alongside his next studio album with Mercury Records.

Hamburg airport hostage standoff ends with child freed, suspect arrested (AlJazeera)
Police in Germany’s Hamburg city have arrested a man and rescued a child at the centre of a hostage standoff at the airport, ending an 18-hour crisis that had forced authorities to close the busy air hub.
A man, who police on Sunday said was suspected of carrying a gun and possibly explosives, drove a vehicle through the gates of the airport on Saturday night, officers said.
Police said the 35-year-old man was with his four-year-old daughter and was thought to be involved in a custody dispute. Read more
