Don’t come near polling units, MASSOB warns soldiers (Punch)

The Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra has warned the Nigerian military to stay clear of the polling units during this weekend’s rescheduled Presidential and National Assembly polls

In a press statement issued in Owerri, the Imo State capital, by the MASSOB leader, Uchenna Madu, the separatists contended that the military had no constitutional right to stay at polling units during elections.

MASSOB said that the statement by President Muhammadu Buhari that the military should deal with ballot box snatchers was a product of desperation and “frustration”.
