Don’t Worry Darling’s KiKi Layne says most of her scenes were cut from the movie

Don’t Worry Darling star KiKi Layne has revealed that many of the scenes she filmed for the movie ended up on the cutting room floor.

The actress plays Margaret Watkins, the best friend of Florence Pugh’s lead character Alice Chambers in the film, and while there are things that Margaret says and does that set the plot in motion, Layne said that there was a lot more she recorded that viewers didn’t get to see.

On her Instagram, Layne posted a photo and a video of herself with her other half Ari’el Stachel, who played Ted Watkins in the film. Yup, they played a married couple on-screen and now they are together in real life!

Speaking about her scenes being cut, Layne’s caption read: “The best thing about #DontWorryDarling is that I was lucky enough to meet @arielstachel. They cut us from most of the movie, but we are thriving in real life. Love you Ari. #GotMyCheck #GotMyMan #EverythingHappensforaReason.”

“My love. You are a queen and your talent shines so bright,” Stachel commented. “I was thirsty then and I’m thirsty now.”

Plenty of Layne’s famous friends, including Don’t Worry Darling co-star Gemma Chan (who plays Shelley), commented with love heart emojis.

Fun fact, Layne wasn’t even originally cast in the film, as Dakota Johnson was set to play Margaret.

The film has come out in the midst of a swirl of negative publicity over on-set conflicts. But after all the conversation and controversy, Don’t Worry Darling came out to mostly mixed reviews that, in short, just found it a bit underwhelming. (DigitalSpy)
