Ebenezer Obey pays tribute to late brother (Tribune)

It is apparent that the heart of the music icon, Evangelist Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi (MFR), is still heavy over the demise of his only brother, Elder Clement Oluseye Olusegun Akanni Kembi.

As the Obey and the Kembi families prepare to honour the deceased with a befitting burial on January 17 and 18 in Lagos State, the Miliki King, has paid a heartfelt tribute to Kembi.

Service of song will be held at Graceway Chapel International Church,  LASU and Igando, Lagos, on Thursday and the funeral service at the same event on Friday, while the reception will follow immediately at The Haven Event Centre, behind Archbishop Vining Memorial Anglican Church Cathedral, off Oba Akinjobi road, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos.

Obey’s tribute read: “Elder Kembi was a great companion and strong supporter of his (Obey’s) music career and that he has left a great vacuum in the entire family. He was born on April 1, 1946 at the Massey Street Hospital, Lagos, but was immediately brought to Idogo town in the Egbado (now Yewa) Division of Ogun State, where he grew up and started his Elementary School at the St. Augustine African School.
