Eddie Murphy’s “Coming to America” sequel ‘moves to Amazon Studios in $125m deal’

Coming 2 America has reportedly been sold to Amazon Studios in a deal worth $125million ahead of its expected release in December. 

The long-awaited sequel to Eddie Murphy’s 1988 comedy, Coming to America, has reportedly been sold by its distributor, Paramount Pictures, in the big-money deal, according to Variety’s sources. 

The final details of the deal are still being hashed out, including two marketing deals which are expected to transger over with the film and Eddie, who stars in and produced the movie, has to also give his approval. 

The movie is expected to premiere on December 18, and is said to be a ‘priority’ for Amazon Studios’ chief, Jennifer Salke, who has acquired the sequel to Borat as well as Without Remorse, starring Michael B. Jordan and One Night In Miami which is expected to be an Oscar contender. (Metro)
