#Endbadgovernance: ‘No death during protests in Niger’ — Police

The Niger State Commissioner of Police, CP Shawulu Danmaman, has dismissed reports of fatalities during the “End Bad Governance” protests in Suleja town, Niger State.

Speaking to journalists in his office, CP Danmaman stated that he had not received any reports of loss of life during the protests, contrary to earlier claims from some sections of the media.

However, he confirmed that there were instances of vandalism and looting of properties at the secretariat of Tafa Local Government Area.

CP Danmaman made this statement shortly after returning from Suleja and Tafa Local Government Areas, where he assessed the situation firsthand.

The “End Bad Governance” protests have been ongoing nationwide, with reports of deaths, violence and calm emerging from different parts of the country.

However, Minna, the capital of Niger State has seen normal vehicular and business activities with no case of placard-carrying protesters. (Channels)
